So what makes us bike repair experts?

It all started over 30 years ago when I got my first bike for christmas a Raleigh Burner BMX.

I left school and started work in the cycle trade (Langsett Cycles). I trained as a mechanic in all disciplines for over 10 years and raced in Langsett Cycles Mountain Bike Team.

I then moved to be Manager and Mechanic at Freespirit, Meadowhall and was responsible for all custom built, top of the range mountain bikes and road bikes (prices up to £7000!) including Pace, Klein, Trek, Rocky Mountain, Saracen and Merlin Titanium. Whilst with Freespirit I took part in a 24 hour cycle ride for Children In Need with the Meadowhall Security Team and after covering 187 miles we raised close to £10,000!

Whilst working a Freespirit I formed the TREAD ATB CLUB which had over 100 members at it's peak. This is when I discovered virtually every trail in Derbyshire. Many of TREAD's members still ride or race today.

I then took the position of Manager and Head Mechanic at Ozone Cycles in Sheffield. Here I was team manager of Ozone/Muddy Fox race team and I competed in all major mountain bike race series all over the UK.

Essentially, I’ve been involved in cycling for over 30 years and recall the BMX and Mountain Bike being introduced to the UK market.

To this day I ride on an almost daily basis, whether commuting to work or off-roading in the Peak District and beyond, and at 43 years old I've just started downhill mountain bike racing.....you're never to old to have fun.

My current ‘stable’ of bikes includes a Cube reaction limited 29er hardtail, a Whyte 129s 29er, a Rocky mountain ETSX 70 and I'm building my first cycle cross bike. I'm currently restoring 3 Raleigh Grifters to their former glory.....who's old enough to remember those?

So rest assured that when you choose Expert Bike Repair to service, maintain or repair your bike, that’s exactly who you’re entrusting your bike to.... An Expert.
